A search engine may have brought you to this Edward
Green page but we never had a chance to sell Edward
Green shoes. The story unfolds below. You can try the
manufacturer's site,
www.edwardgreen.com
or take a look at our present
offerings. |
Dear Customers,
It had to happen - the impossible (or nearly impossible as I had a nagging
thought something would go wrong with Susie Jones' departure from EG). I attach
the correspondence with EG below. I think there's a EG competitor lurking in the
forums and has ratted off to EG. I'm truly sorry for what's happened and hope
you understand. Please read from bottom up to get a clear perspective.
Dear Mr Doshi,
I understand and sincerely regret the position in which you find yourself.
Usually we visit all potential customers in response to their interest, to
introduce ourselves properly and to assess their suitability. Although in your
case, it was impractical at this stage, we would have planned to do so when
visiting the Far East later this year and I too was surprised when I checked the
profile of your company on the internet as I would have expected a Sales Manager
to do on learning of a serious interest.
We will hold your deposit until we receive details of your UK bank account.
Yours sincerely, Hilary Freeman, Managing Director

Dear Ms. Freeman,
I don't quite understand your email.
We have a real store and as you will see from most of the size-line orders,
they're mainly for in-house sale in our store. We're also a small company and
specialise in personal service.
Are you saying you cannot accept my order and do not want to do business?
This is awfully embarrassing as our customers have placed orders with you. Is
this the view of your managing director? How can you one day accept my business,
my money and then turn around and say you are unaware of what's gone on?
If you're adamant and insist on making a refund, we ask you to hang on and
keep it in pounds sterling and I will furnish you details of my UK bank account
in due course.
Shyam

Dear Mr Shyam,
Your email has been passed to me as Susie has left our company since your
previous correspondence. I was unaware until today of the approach you have made
and have now made some enquiries and viewed the website which outlines your
operation.
Briefly I must explain that we sell only a few oddments on the internet
because of the importance of fitting Edward Green shoes : we are an extremely
small company and specialise in a personal service. I understand you have made a
deposit prior to placing an order to take advantage of a favourable exchange
rate. This will be refunded in the morning. I am sorry for this lack of
communication between our two companies.
Yours sincerely, Hilary Freeman

Dear Sirs,
Further to my email order yesterday, there is one correction to be made,
sorry, line 16, Chelsea 202 black should be 11.5/12D not E.
I also need to know the prices, are they all GBP204? And the estimated
delivery date, thank you.
Shyam Doshi
